‘An integral part of public art projects working with people. I collaborate with, lead workshops or just talk to a whole range of groups and individuals. In the case of Bletchley Leisure Centre project, this engagement has taken place throughout the entire process (twelve months) of the commission and has encompassed community workshops, meetings and invited home visits with a huge range of people’.
Statement by Artist Vanessa Dell
'I must congratulate everyone involved in the process - from Vanesaa through the Council officials to the developers and architects, there seemed to be such a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the task that was very refreshing. It seemed that any problem that might have arisen, the will was there to resolve it the best possible way. The community involvement process was very effective and I'm sure this has been appreciated in may quarters. Thanks for the opportunity to be involved. I enjoyed being pa part of the team and will always feel a certain pride when I visit the Leisure Centre.
